10 Girl’s from Bengaluru Represents the Country at the Junior NBA World Championship in Orlando, Florida US


Karnataka’s U-14 girls team heads to Jr. NBA World Tourney.

Months of Hard-work and preparation have finally paid off 10 girls from Bengaluru, who will represent our country at the Jr. NBA World Championship to be held in Orlando, Florida, US, this month. The Girl’s will fight it out in the Under-14 category and will compete against some of the best teams from across the World.

The Team Comprises Vedaa Anand, Shreya Ashok, Nuha Asif Masood, Shreya Bose, Sunishka Kartik, Diya Kothari, Meghana Manjunatha, Moumitha Mishra, Hamsa Nanjundaiah and Smriti Vemula, Prasanna Venkatesh Rajamanickam – Head Coach. The Team says that Bengaluru is a good place for Basketball players.

” Bengaluru has very good facilities for Basketball. A lot of colleges too have indoor courts and certified coaches”.But parents need to be supportive and must encourage girls to participate in such sports. Only then we will see the game reach greater heights in the country – Coach Prasanna Says.
